Electronic Accessories Organizer

I saw another project in Real Simple which was such a great idea I could hardly resist. Our cords, cables, headphones, and adapters were such a mess it was hardly worth looking in the drawer. Now they're neatly, and fashionably organized.

Components: shoe organizer, scrap booking paper, buttons, thread, & labels

Total project cost: $15

Universe instantly expanded

I am so behind the times. After I got my iphone last year, I considered myself cool and hip, and that was that. However, technology continued to evolve while I picked my nose. Justin just happened to stop by the other day and ask a simple question: "Have you downloaded any iphone apps lately?" I said, "nah, I'm just not into that." Justin proceeded to show me some sweet applications he's been entertained by lately, and my mind was blown. A few that I found particularly neat include: Tap Tap Revenge, Shazam, and Epocrates-all free. Epocrates has drug info and a few other awesome features that I can actually use at my job. I'm curious to see what else is out there.

For Sale

She's on the market and ready for the next family. We've been working very hard to get things ready and it's annoying because it looks the nicest it ever has, just in time for a new owner. Wish us luck as we play the waiting game.

Late Summer Blooms

I feel like I wait all summer for my bougainvillea to bloom. The magenta blossoms are so interesting and spice up the dead grass nicely :).

What is a Vita Mix?

Our old blender broke. Not that I was too surprised, as I have a bad history with breaking blenders. Unfortunately, it seems like that's a really common problem when buying inexpensive blenders. So, I thought long and hard about how to solve my blending dilemma. When out at Willy and Eron's house, I got to play with a Vita Mix and was amazed by it! I did a little research of my own and found there is a whole world of blenders I didn't know about.

Here's the history of Vita Mix in a nutshell. The inventor of the Vita Mix introduced the first blender in 1937. About every 10 years they put out a new model, with ridiculously long warranties and absurdly fast motors. So fast they can heat while pureeing.

I searched craigslist and found a nice little model for a reasonable price. Keep in mind, the newest model runs between $800-$900. The particular model I purchased is a 3600-circa 1969.

Quite a beauty, and it works like a dream.

Check out the vita mix family and all the features!

If you're in the market for a blender, check it out!
