Our old blender broke. Not that I was too surprised, as I have a bad history with breaking blenders. Unfortunately, it seems like that's a really common problem when buying inexpensive blenders. So, I thought long and hard about how to solve my blending dilemma. When out at Willy and Eron's house, I got to play with a Vita Mix and was amazed by it! I did a little research of my own and found there is a whole world of blenders I didn't know about.
Here's the
history of Vita Mix in a nutshell. The inventor of the Vita Mix introduced the first blender in 1937. About every 10 years they put out a new model, with ridiculously long warranties and absurdly fast motors. So fast they can heat while pureeing.
I searched craigslist and found a nice little model for a reasonable price. Keep in mind, the newest model runs between $800-$900. The particular model I purchased is a 3600-circa 1969.
Quite a beauty, and it works like a dream.
