Carl's Birthday Week Begins

Carl loves to tease me that I celebrate my birthday too long. Well, Carl officially started his birthday extravaganza yesterday by opening his first gift from his parents.

And, being I have your attention, I want to say I think that birthdays are important and deserve to be celebrated long and hard - definitely more than only one day.

Oh, and one more thing, please don't forget that Carl and Heidi's Birthday Party is this coming Saturday, November 3rd. See your evite or, if for some strange reason, your evite didn't get to you, email me for details. We haven't had a party for a long time and therefore this party will be totally earth-shakingly awesome.

Leif gets a visit from Crazy Uncle Carl and Practical Auntie Kath

We just returned from Leavenworth after a week long visit with Leif, Eron, and Willy. The weather was cool, but sunny and the leaves were turning beautiful fall shades. Leif is crawling quickly and standing with help. Leif loves being outside and taking walks in his front carrier or stroller. He also loves his Mama and Papa and 'gently' petting his puppies and kitty. He smiles easily and likes to grunt. We took to road trip to Wenatchee, WA to help Leif pick out his first toy tractor - good times. We also helped to plant nearly 3000 cloves of garlic at the garden where Willy and Eron work. Here are more photos to document our trip: Carl's Picasa Web Album

Leif's First Fall

Leif with his buddies Comet and Ghani-ma. We're heading out to Washington in 2 weeks to see him (and Willy and Eron) :). Based on some photos Willy sent, it looks like Leif has started crawling. It's going to be so much fun to visit!

Katie and Joe are Married!

It was the perfect October weekend for Katie and Joe's wedding. It was so elegant, with a little Latin flare! Katie was stunning in her couture gown and Joe was dapper in a subtle pinstripe- they are such a beautiful couple! In the evening, we all worked up a sweat to Madisalsa as they played a unforgettable mix of salsa, merengue and cha-cha. At the end of the night, Joe had a few surprises lined up for Katie, including a horse drawn carriage back to the mystery hotel (Mansion Hill). It was the perfect ending to the perfect night as we watched Katie and Joe ride off in the carriage. How romantic!

PS- They also have an amazing website - even though the wedding's over, I still recommend you check out their talents! katie-and-joe.com

Its the end of the World as we know it

TED is the coolest conference ever. They invite very interesting people to speak about whatever they want.

The down side is that it costs $4k to attend, and its by invitation only. They have been kind enough to let us in a bit, with some of the talks going online. I thought this one was awesome:

Terra form Mars?? Count me in!
