Wet
We had quite a day in Madison yesterday. Katherin left home to meet me for lunch and the sky was blue. By the time she got downtown, it was pouring. My trip to the ATM for lunch money got me pretty soaked. In the 60 minutes we sat inside for lunch, Madison got 3 to 6 inches of rain. We saw many cars stalled. There was a kayak going down the street. After lunch, we determined going home was safer than going back to work. Got home and there was no power. I called someone at my work to let them know I went home and learned that the datacenter had sprung a leak. They had taken email and most of the other campus online services offline. Here’s a good story about all the damage around town. Rather amazing.
At least we didn’t have to water the plants yesterday.

On the Hunt
I had no idea that gathering everyone’s addresses was such a big task. Odds are that if you are reading this, we were able to stalk you down and you received the “Save-The-Date” note. I am hoping that we got them out in time for you to make your holiday plans, and then drop over to Madison for a quick wedding. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need help with planning or have any questions.

Pink?
Who ever said that kittens bounce probably didn’t know what they were talking about. On Monday, our kitten Paco some how managed to break his right tibia. I didn’t want to go running to the vet like a crazy cat lady, so it wasn’t until today that the vet took some x-rays to tell us what was going on (He also got neutered today and a section of hair shaved off his back so that he can wear a pain medicine patch). She called to give me the results of the x-rays and said that splinting it would work well but orthopedic surgery was also an option. I really like my cats, but that just seems ridiculous. So are pink hearts, but that’s not really here nor there.

Birth of a Blog
Making a website is complicated, but really fun. I love that I have the time to waste on this kind of thing and can get back to my hobbies now that I’m done with school. When I was in high school, one of my strange hobbies was creating flyers and documents using the program Microsoft Publisher. I’m not even sure if that program is around anymore, but if you’ve heard of it, you can feel free to laugh at me now. Fortunately, computer software has come a long way and allows even the not-so-computer-savvy to spill their guts for all to read.
Those of you who know me well, know that obstacles seem to find their way in front of me. I can only imagine how this process of wedding preparations will go, but I have a feeling that it has the potential to be entertaining. Carl and I will both be posting on this blog to share our wedding planning adventures and other random info that will let you get to know us better. Feel free to email us at any time with your news or if you have questions about the wedding.
